Zig Elizondo
Middle School Math Teacher
Zig Elizondo is a middle school math teacher at California Connections Academy. He holds a bachelor of arts in history from University of California, Irvine and a master of education from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Elizondo joined Connections Academy with 11 years of teaching experience. He previously taught in San, Pedro, Cupertino, and Whittier, California. Mr. Elizondo shared more below.
“Math was always my best subject. I liked how each problem always had an answer. I enjoy teaching math because I feel like I’m helping students understand a difficult subject. Being a teacher has also allowed me to volunteer and coach basketball.”
In his free time, Mr. Elizondo loves to travel, and each year, he tries to go on a “passport” vacation or several small local trips. He also loves spending time with friends and family, especially his 3-year-old nephew.
