Hardware and Connectivity
Connections Academy families receive the use of a computer while they are enrolled.* Families with more than one student enrolled in the program usually receive one computer, but in some cases are eligible for more. Our current Hewlett-Packard desktop systems include:
- Intel® Pentium Dual-Core E5300 Processor or better
- 2GB DDR3 Memory
- 160GB SATA Hard Drive
- 10/100 Network Card
- 56K V.9x Internal Modem
- 17" Monitor
The systems come fully installed with Microsoft® Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office, virus-protection and spyware-protection software, and other tools and utilities.

We offer comprehensive technical support for the systems we provide and complete information on proper usage of hardware and software.
Using Your Own Computer
If you choose to use your own computer, or your school does not provide one, you can use the minimum requirements as a guideline for setting up a system. Our Support Team is available to help if you have questions.
Internet Service
We provide a subsidy for Internet service.* You are responsible for obtaining an Internet service provider, but Connections Academy can help recommend providers and assist you with setting up the computer for access.
