Ms. Lockhart has been a school counselor since 2013, and she joined the Wyoming Connections Academy in 2019. Ms. Lockhart shares more below!

Why I Became an Educator

I wanted to become a school counselor after graduating with my degree. I shadowed my cousin who was a school counselor in Colorado and decided that it is the job I would absolutely love. My original dream was to go back to my hometown high school and do all the things that my school counselor didn't do, but life took me in a different direction!

The Online School Experience

I love our team and the hard work everyone accomplishes. Our staff is always trying to approach situations from a point of understanding and flexibility. I love the population of our students and how diverse they all are, but just like any student they love and flourish from relationships with their teachers and mentors!

At Wyoming Connections Academy, our ACT scores are right up there with the state average. We are learning and growing each year to provide them with the same, if not more, resources than a brick-and-mortar [school].

What makes our school special is the fact that we are all here for the same reason. We want every student to succeed, and it is very rewarding to see them push themselves and excel beyond their expectations.

"I love our team and the hard work everyone does. Our staff is always trying to approach situations from a point of understanding and flexibility."

My Interests

I used to love scrapbooking and organizing. I used to be a clean freak and truly was happy when my house was clean. Eight years and three kids later, I now have let that obsession go and try my best to keep my house clean!
