The Online School Experience at Utah Connections Academy
"Being an interventionist is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever taken on. I love helping students 'get' a concept that may have eluded them in the past. The 'lightbulb' moment is my favorite moment in all of teaching. Teaching online has been a journey of growth. Getting to know my students has been the best part because I have found online we need to find ways to connect; I feel connected with my students as we have become part of each other's lives.
I would like parents to know that UCA is there to support and help their student succeed, but we can't do it alone, we need our parents to support and be a part of their students' educational journey. Students will need to be present and willing to work each and every day, but they are not alone and the school as a whole is there to help.
Ms. Brereton’s Personal Interests
My life is full of goodness: I have a husband, 2 children and 2 in-laws I call my bonus kids. I love being with them every chance I get. Outside of school I enjoy shooting clay, kayaking, and just being free to wander in the hills. I am a wife, mom, mother-in-law, teacher, and soon to be grandma. I couldn't ask for anything more!"
“I feel connected with my students as we have become part of each other’s lives.”
