Pamela Rutherford began her teaching career in 2007 and joined Oklahoma Connections Academy in 2021. She’s currently a reading interventionist for grades K-4. Ms. Rutherford loves the family atmosphere and teamwork at Oklahoma Connections Academy and being able to work closely with families to help each student succeed. She shares more below:
Why I Became a Teacher
I grew up with parents who both have dedicated their lives to being educators. As a result, I have also always found joy in helping others learn. I taught dance for several years and worked as a leader with our church youth group and decided that I wanted to spend my life helping children learn and grow in a school setting.

The Benefits of K-12 Online Learning
In an online school, we can tailor our instruction to meet individual students' needs in a one-on-one setting. Being able to work so closely with students and their families enables us to truly work as a team to best help each student.
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy spending time with my family and my black lab, Hunter. We enjoy fishing, sports like football and soccer, being outside, and going to the beach when we can!
