Rebecca Fetty
Second Grade Reading Interventionalist
Ms. Fetty is the second grade Reading Interventionalist at Ohio Connections Academy (OCA). She started her teaching career in 2006 with OCA and holds a master’s degree from Ohio State University. Ms. Fetty shares her story below:
“I knew I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and young adults. I always enjoyed helping and working with others. When I was in elementary school, I wanted to be a teacher, and that desire never changed. My favorite part of being a teacher is seeing the progress my students make. I love the ‘wow’ moments! When a student who was having difficulty finally understands the skills and is able to apply them, I am elated.
A benefit of the online school environment is that it enables me to meet each student’s learning style and needs by working with him or her on-on-one. It also provides a wonderful opportunity for me to work as a team with the parents/Learning Coaches.
If you are seeking an opportunity to be involved in your student’s education, a learning environment free of distractions, and teachers who do not move on until every student understands the material, then this is the school for your student.

I would tell a prospective family that if you are seeking an opportunity to be involved in your student’s education, a learning environment free of distractions, and teachers who do not move on until every student understands the material, then this is the school for your student.”
