Rachel Fiest
Kindergarten Teacher
Ms. Fiest is a kindergarten teacher at Ohio Connections Academy (OCA). She started her teaching career in 2000 and joined OCA in 2003. She holds a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and a kindergarten certification from Ashland University. Ms. Fiest shares her story below:
“I became a teacher because I wanted to make sure learning was a positive experience for all students. I love getting to know my students and families at OCA.
I think the best thing about our school is the flexibility that we offer to families—it allows me to help meet my students’ individual needs and get to know them on a more personal level. Each student learns differently, and our program allows us to make adjustments to help each student learn at his or her own pace. Also, we have LiveLesson® sessions, which are an invaluable tool to reach out to our students and teach in a virtual setting.”
