Tisha Rinker is the manager of counseling services at Ohio Connections Academy (OCA). She has been a school counselor since 2002 and joined the Connections Academy® community in 2006. Below Ms. Rinker shares what she loves about being a school counselor in an online setting.
“The thing I love about being a school counselor is seeing students overcome barriers to learning and achieving more than they ever thought possible,” said Ms. Rinker. “I am motivated to help every student and family feel hopeful once they enroll at OCA.
The Ohio Connections Academy School Counseling Department has a mission to deliver a virtual, comprehensive school counseling program that meets the individual needs of all students and empowers them to be successful in a changing world. By partnering with students, educators, and families, students can grow and succeed in academic, career, and personal/social areas. Ultimately, students will be prepared for their postsecondary goals and will be responsible, productive citizens and lifelong learners.”
