Hailey is a second grade student at Ohio Connections Academy. Her mother, Sarah, said they chose for her to begin her academic path in the online school due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sarah share s more below.
Why I Chose Ohio Connections Academy
I like the ease and ability for a parent to immediately see if their child is being challenged by coursework, as well as the freedom and flexibility of doing schoolwork.
My Online School Experience
There's no middleman when it comes to feedback. As a Learning Coach, I can see and challenge my daughter as I notice things are too easy and we can skip forward in classwork. I don’t worry about class size anymore, and I truly believe Hailey is learning more efficiently.
A lot of families are struggling with the back and forth of kids being able to attend school and then having to stay home. I set our schedule and I set the pace for my daughter’'s learning in a way that is consistent and able to be planned and worked around.”
Outside of school, Hailey enjoys playing soccer, participating in dance, and gymnastics.
Ms. Salinas, Hailey’s teacher, nominated her to be one of Ohio Connections Academy’s Star Students of the month for December in recognition of her effort and positive attitude in class.
Hailey is an eager learner and demonstrates great efforts to achieve her goals,” Ms. Salinas said. “She portrays our kindergarten goals: respect(ful), responsible, and engaged during our LiveLesson® sessions and independent learning. She is ambitious and sincerely loves to learn.
