Why I Became an Educator

Ms. Vigil’s goal is to instill her passion for history in all her students. She provides opportunities for them to participate in a historical walking tour in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she dresses in historic costume and shares stories and facts with them. She also invites students to show community support through writing letters of appreciation to our country’s veterans for Veterans Day.

Ms. Vigil enjoys teaching at New Mexico Connections Academy because she has students all over New Mexico. She believes that New Mexico Connections Academy is a good choice for many students because they enjoy the freedom and flexibility to complete their schoolwork on their own schedule. This is especially true for students who are involved in extracurricular activities ranging from sports to choir to rodeo. Parents choosing to enroll their students at New Mexico Connections Academy also know that it is a safe learning environment.
