Maria, a tenth grader at Michigan Connections Academy, is a world-class figure skater who represents Team USA. Go, Maria! You make us proud.
Maria has been skating since she was two years old. Now a paired figure skater with her older brother, she represents Team USA. The duo became eligible to compete at the senior international level last year. Reports Maria, “I really love skating and competing. Skating is my whole life, and I’m from a family of figure skaters.”
Michigan Connections Academy’s flexible approach to education enables the dedicated athlete to balance her schoolwork with her quest to become the best pair skater in the world. Maria’s favorite subject is Spanish.
