.Elizabeth first joined MCA as a freshman in 2014 after being homeschooled since the age of 10. Connections Academy allowed her to work at a pace that suited her, add additional classes to her course load when desired, and structure her schedule around her daily work on her family’s 40-acre farm. Her favorite classes were Introduction to Computers and Information Technology, and she is planning to pursue a career in cyber security to combine her interests in local business and technology.
Elizabeth has already gotten a head start in the business world, as she has developed her own soap products to sell from her family’s farm. With the money raised, she was able to pay for two college-credit courses offered by MCA through the University of Ft. Kent.
I loved the broad choices of classes, great teachers, and the flexibility and freedom of being able to control my own education, all of which were not options in a brick-and-mortar school.
