Laura Delgadillo

Laura Delgadillo is a special education teacher at Florida Connections Academy (FCA). Ms. Delgadillo graduated from Flagler College in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and exceptional student education (ESE), along with getting her endorsements in reading and English to speakers of other languages (ESOL). In college she was part of an all-women's community service organization and was a recipient of the' Achieving the Dream' Hispanic student scholarship.
Ms. Delgadillo is originally from Bogota, Colombia, and moved to the United States at four years old. From a young age, she knew she wanted to be a teacher due to her personal school experiences and being a bilingual student. Ms. Delgadillo previously taught at a brick-and-mortar school where she was a kindergarten teacher. She decided to join Florida Connections Academy to expand the demographic of students she could work with and be a part of their learning experiences.

The ability to focus on specific skills students need the most support in, without the added pressure of being in a traditional school setting, has allowed me to become a more effective educator, and I have been able to provide engaging and lasting lessons for my students.
The best part of being at FCA is the support each individual student gets at home and at school. They say 'it takes a village to raise a child' and here at Florida Connections Academy learning coaches work closely with their student's teachers and staff members on a daily basis to make sure students meet their goals and make the gains needed to provide an enjoyable, pressure-free learning experience".
Ms. Delgadillo is currently engaged and is the mother of a baby boy. As a family, they enjoy doing anything that involves water and being outdoors. She is passionate about the future and truly loves being part of the FCA staff and students' education.
