I began my teaching career in 2014 and joined Colorado Connections Academy in 2024. I currently teach fifth grade, where I have the opportunity to work with students across all subject areas.
Why I Chose Education
I became a teacher because, as a child, I struggled to be successful with the way I was being taught. I often found myself thinking about different approaches that might help me learn more effectively. Those experiences inspired me to become an educator who recognizes that every student learns differently. My goal is to individualize instruction and create learning experiences that help all types of learners feel successful. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching at Colorado Connections Academy is the opportunity to build strong relationships with my students and their families. I love that we work together as a team to support each student's growth and success.

Building a Welcoming School Community
One of my favorite activities to do with students is a scavenger hunt! I give students 30 seconds to find a specific object and then explain it to the class. It is a fun way to get students moving, thinking creatively, and sharing with one another. I believe a Connections Academy education prepares students for a bright future by providing access to rigorous curriculum while also encouraging creativity and individualism. For families considering our school, my advice is: Don't be afraid to try something new! While learning a new way of schooling can take some adjustment, it can be incredibly rewarding to prioritize your student's individual needs.
My Interests
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have been married for eight years, and we have two children, Stella, who is 5, and Trenton, who is 2. Our family also includes two giant yellow Labs, Antero and Wray. We love camping and spending time together, and I also enjoy cooking, baking, cross-stitching, and embroidery. I feel very fortunate to bring my passion for individualized learning, creativity, and connection into my classroom each day!
