Math Teacher
Lauren Beckmann is a math teacher at Colorado Connections Academy (ColoCA). She began her teaching career in 2011 and joined ColoCA in 2012. Mrs. Beckmann received her bachelors of science degree in math and physics from Siena College. She shares more about her teaching journey below.
"While I was in college, several of my peers and professors recognized my ability to communicate complex concepts. This encouragement was all I needed to light the spark. Math is fascinating and I wanted to spread my excitement for the subject with others. Seeing my students grow is the most rewarding feeling.
I love the flexibility of our program. I can work one-on-one with student to answer their questions, work on their educational confidence, and explore their personal curiosity. As an online teacher, I am able to better allocate my time to my students and their families. I can meet their individual needs and get to know them on a personal level.
Students come to ColoCA for a variety of reasons, but we foster an encouraging and accepting community both in and out of the classroom. We have a multitude of opportunities for students to apply their skills in the real world and explore their own interests. In addition to their studies, ColoCA students learn self-discipline, time management, responsibility and self-advocacy—these skills certainly prepare them for a bright and successful future.

The one thing I can tell prospective parents as they are making the decision to enroll is that students, teachers, and learning coaches at ColoCA communicate and work as a team to support students’ individual needs."
Outside of teaching, Mrs. Beckmann enjoys hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking, photography, Stand Up Paddling (SUP), running, cooking, traveling, and reading.
