Graduates from Colorado Connections Academy, a tuition-free online public school serving students statewide in grades K–12, donned their caps and gowns as they came together to celebrate the major milestone of high school graduation at the University of Denver’s Magness Arena on May 29, 2025.

Bohdan Starke, this year’s Valedictorian, shares how Colorado Connections Academy helped prepare him for his future: “Attending Colorado Connections Academy allowed me to learn at my own pace, and I love the independence it gave me." When speaking about his teachers at Colorado Connections Academy, he said, “There were several teachers who went above and beyond and made a difference in my education. They were very encouraging and taught me what it meant to fail and to learn from that failure. Mistakes are welcome, that’s the best learning opportunity.”
What’s Next for Colorado Connections Academy High School Graduates?
Among Colorado Connections Academy’s graduating class, 41 percent plan to attend two- or four-year colleges or universities, including Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University, Grand Canyon University, Purdue University, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the University of Colorado. Additionally, 18 percent plan to enter the workforce, 15 percent plan to receive vocational training and others plan to serve in the military or take a gap year. The graduates were collectively awarded more than $1.3 million in scholarships and awards.
