Raymond Hankinson
Middle School Teacher
Raymond Hankinson is a middle school teacher at Arizona Connections Academy (ACA). He has been teaching for a decade, and joined ACA in 2009. Mr. Hankinson received his bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from Holy Family University. He also holds two master’s degrees: education with a focus in computers and technology from Arcadia University, and educational leadership from Arizona State University. Mr. Hankinson explains what he likes about teaching at ACA below:
"I have experienced many inspirational teachers in my life. My first grade teacher was also an instructor for a class I took during my first year of college. I knew very quickly that a career in teaching was my calling in life.
Students at ACA experience a high level of critical thinking activities that equip them with the skills needed to succeed in the future. This includes identifying and utilizing key information in new ways to help them achieve their lesson goals. The flexibility in scheduling is a huge asset to many of our students, too. This empowers them to self-select their own schedules and move at a pace that is challenging and appropriate. The wealth of online resources that guide students through lessons is another significant asset.

I enjoy working with the vast diversity of students at ACA. Each student brings a different strength to the classroom and I find it an honor to work with each one. Helping students acclimate and excel in the virtual environment is especially satisfying! Our school community presents a rich range of people who truly enjoy working together to help our students succeed.
Enrolling in the right school is a critical decision for any parent. I would tell prospective parents to research our school and connect with enrolled families in order to make the right decision for their student. They should know that the staff and administration at ACA will work their hardest to help each student achieve his or her educational goals."
Outside of teaching, Mr. Hankinson enjoys spending time with his two dogs, playing guitar, recording and editing audio and video, and going to baseball games.
