Instructional Coach and Sixth Grade Language Arts Teacher

Meg Kirby is an Instructional Coach at Arizona Connections Academy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in special education and endorsement in reading and English from Tarleton State University in Texas. Mrs. Kirby began teaching in 1999 and joined Arizona Connections Academy in 2010. Mrs. Kirby shares below how she became an educator and why she chose to work at Arizona Connections Academy.

“Education is the foundation for success. I have a passion for learning, as well as, sharing my knowledge with others. I became an educator to make a difference in education and to impact the lives of students and families.

What brought me to Arizona Connections Academy was the challenge and excitement of working with students in a new way and being part of the next steps in education. I truly love connecting with my students and families by knocking down the virtual walls and meeting them where they are in their educational journey.

At Arizona Connections Academy we are able to individualize and differentiate learning based on the students’ needs, learning style and work habits. All students can learn and do so in different ways. It is all about finding what works for each student. It is so exciting to be a part of that pivotal moment in a student’s life that ignites their passion and excitement for learning.

In addition to teaching, I have an exceptional opportunity to share my passion and knowledge with other teachers, as an instructional coach. In this role it is my goal to inspire and challenge them to grow, learn, and help their students reach their greatest potential.”
