Jackie Routen
Second Grade Teacher
Jackie Routen is a second grade teacher at Arizona Connections Academy. She has been a teacher for many years and joined Arizona Connections Academy in 2015. She shares more about her experience below:
“I became a teacher because I love children and helping them learn to read. I always wanted to be the teacher. Even as a child I used to play school with my sisters and my friends.
I enjoy teaching at Arizona Connections Academy because I have a passion for talking to and interacting with my students. It is very rewarding to be so connected to my students and their families. Online school is more interesting and exciting than a traditional school because my students get to learn and talk to their teacher and other students from the comfort of their own homes. Not all students can sit in one place for a large part of the day.
I feel we create a very welcoming environment by calling each student at the beginning of the year. We have an open-door policy to help motivate every student so they become successful. We promote and encourage our students and staff to be one community."
