When was Alabama Connections Academy (ALCA) fully approved to open?
In May 2017, the Limestone County School District approved the opening of Alabama Connections Academy for the 2017–18 school year. In addition, Connections Education LLC, was selected as its provider for online education.
Who is eligible to attend Alabama Connections Academy?
Students entering grades K–12, residing throughout the state of Alabama are eligible to enroll in Alabama Connections Academy. See the Enroll section to learn more.

Does Connections Academy provide services and accommodations for students with disabilities?
For students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Alabama Connections Academy provides virtual special education services that range from consultation, curriculum accommodation and modification, collaboration with learning coaches and general education teachers, to virtual direct instruction. Alabama Connections Academy provides students with IEPs with related services that may include virtual speech language and virtual occupational therapy, as determined by the IEP team. During the enrollment process the Alabama Connections Academy Special Education department will review the student’s IEP and most recent evaluation and determine if the student’s special education needs can be met in the online environment. This review will confirm that the student is on the General Education Pathway to graduation, and that the student's needs can be met in the virtual environment.

Will students interested in participating in local sports be required to participate through their resident school district or the Limestone County School District?
Any student enrolled in a virtual school program offered by his or her local school system shall be treated as if he or she is attending his or her local bricks-and-mortar school in the zone in which they reside for purposes of participating in extracurricular activities. Students in a virtual school setting will be subject to the same requirements as a student enrolled in a traditional public school. How do I report incidents of bullying or aggressive behavior at the school?
In the case that you or your student have experienced aggressive behavior, please report the incident via the form to report bullying, aggressive, or other prohibitive behavior. Once completed, submit the form to your school leader. The school will then investigate the incident and determine a resolution. For more information, please refer to the school handbook.
How do I request a transcript?
Alabama Connections Academy has authorized Parchment, Inc. to provide transcripts in electronic or paper format. If this is your first time requesting a transcript, you will first have to register by creating a new account. Once you have created your account, you can request to have your transcript sent to any destination and track your transcript order.
