Petra Holst began teaching in 2011. She joined Utah Connections Academy in 2021 as the school’s Upper Elementary Reading Intervention Specialist.
Why I Became a Teacher
I’ve wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I had some wonderful teachers at a very young age who made learning fun and magical. I wanted to be just like them. It’s fun to help students achieve their goals and make progress. I love to read and help students build confidence in their reading while learning to enjoy it.
The Online School Experience at Utah Connections Academy
This school’s online platform allows me to teach in innovative and creative ways. I enjoy the connections I’m able to build with students and their Learning Coaches through all the communication we have. I enjoy participating in school clubs and weekly announcements.
Students at Utah Connections Academy develop skills to help them be responsible, reliable, organized, self-motivated, and resourceful.
My Hobbies and Interests
I’m married and have two kids and a dog. I love spending time with my family, and I enjoy reading, four-wheeling, boating, and traveling.
