Why I Became a Teacher

My high school literature teacher, Mr. Gorman, made me want to become a teacher. His love for learning and enthusiasm was contagious. He found a way to make things relevant and enjoyable.

The Online School Experience at Great River Connections Academy

This is not just an online school where the students don't have to work to be successful. There is a rigorous curriculum that will challenge students. If your students are willing to put the work in, they will get a tremendous education!

I ask poll questions that make connections between students. It doesn't matter what topic or questions I'm inquiring about, inevitably there are going to be several students that have answers that are very close. This brings a sense of community to the class—you're not in this all by yourself.

"A big benefit to online school is that the students can work around their own schedule. Night owl? Early mornings? Weekends? No problem!"

The Benefits of K-12 Online Learning

I love getting to know the students at Great River Connections Academy! It is so much fun to talk to students on the phone, engage in LiveLesson® sessions and see them grow through their work. A big benefit to online school is that the students can work around their own schedule. Night owl? Early mornings? Weekends? No problem!

The future is also going to be exactly what we're doing here—remote learning and teaching, technology skills, being able to work on your own timeline to meet deadlines. An education at Great River Connections Academy builds students into the citizens of tomorrow.
