Why I Became a Teacher

I became a teacher to provide myself with the opportunity to engage with young children in a way that would have an impact on their current and future educational journey.

The Online School Experience at Great River Connections Academy

I love the flexibility that teaching at Great River Connections Academy provides. Since I work from home, I now can spend more time with my own family before and after the traditional school day that I did not have when I drove 45 minutes to and from my brick-and-mortar classroom.

I have been searching for meaningful ways that students may engage with one another. Thus far, I have started to host show-n-tell once a month, Freckle Frenzy days, and a weekly novel study group.

My Interests

I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy watching historical shows such as Downton Abbey, The Crown, and The Spanish Princess from my back patio when the weather is right, as being outdoors brings me lots of happiness.

"Great River Connections Academy provides a challenging curriculum that enables students to obtain the knowledge necessary, as well as exposure to the importance of developing routines and adhering to deadlines for success."
