Open Application Period

Michigan Connections Academy has an enrollment cap of 1,735 students.

The new student open application period was from March 3, 2021 through April 2, 2021. After accounting for returning students, grades 11 and 12 were oversubscribed at the end of the application period and new students requesting these grades will be selected for enrollment through a random lottery drawing held on April 16, 2021. To qualify for the lottery, students must have completed all tasks except for course placement. Attendance is not required.

Parents/legal guardians of students who completed all enrollment tasks during this period will be notified of the lottery results via email. Parents/legal guardians of students selected in the lottery will have 5 business days to accept an offer of enrollment sent via email; if they fail to accept such offer within the 5 days, they shall forfeit the student's space to the next student on the list. Students not selected in the lottery will be placed on a lottery waiting list chronologically in the order in which their names are drawn in the lottery. Students on the lottery waiting list will be notified and released to enroll if space becomes available in their grade.

Students in grades K–10 will be enrolled on a first come/first served basis until the cap is reached. Once the cap is met, students who complete all enrollment tasks will be placed on a waiting list, and released to enroll based on space available in the student's grade and the date order that enrollment tasks were completed.
