All students are supported and counseled throughout their time at Michigan Connections Academy so that every student finds success after graduation.

Preparing Online School Students for Graduation


Connections Academy provides in-depth support to ensure that online school students understand their graduation requirements and are well prepared for life beyond high school.

High School Graduation Requirements

Students must successfully earn a minimum of 22 credits to graduate and also take state tests. Be sure to check your school handbook for updates. The course credits required to graduate include:

  • Language arts: 4 credits
  • Math: 4 credits (including Algebra, Geometry and Algebra II)
  • Science: 3 credits (including Biology, Chemistry or Physics)
  • Social studies: 3 credits (including U.S. History, World History, Economics and Government)
  • Health and physical education: 1 credit
  • Fine Arts - Visual, Performing, or Applied Arts: 1 credit
  • World language: 2 credits
  • Other electives: 4 credits
