Ashley Stratton

Third Grade Teacher

Ashley Stratton is a 3rd grade teacher at Colorado Connections Academy. She began teaching in 2009 and joined Colorado Connections Academy in 2015. Mrs. Stratton received her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies, with an emphasis in sociology and English, from Adams State, and her master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University. Learn about her story below.

"My mom was a teacher, so becoming one too was natural for me. We spend so much of our lives at work, and I like idea of spending that time working with children and families.

I enjoy the flexibility at Colorado Connections Academy because it allows me to collaborate with parents and get to know families better than I would at a bricks-and-mortar school. I talk to some parents more in a week than I used to in one semester at a traditional school. It's great that parents can work with their student to choose a schedule that works for the family. This environment is unique in that students also have the option of attending field trips all over the state.

Colorado Connections Academy offers students a high-quality education. While flexible, the program has expectations that teach students to be responsible and accountable. I believe that these expectations can be carried forward into their future educational choices and career choices."
