EQUIPMENT AND CONNECTION

Hardware Requirements

Colorado Connections Academy families may request one laptop per household. Any computer equipment supplied by the school is on loan during enrollment and must be returned upon withdrawal, graduation, or at the request of the school.

Families are responsible for ensuring that enrolled students have access to a device while the school-loaned computer is being shipped and/or in the event that it needs to be repaired or replaced.

If you choose to use your own computer, make sure to check our minimum system requirements. Students may use the device of their choice for their daily schoolwork, but please note that Chromebooks may not be used to complete our NWEA MAP district assessments due to functionality issues. If students use a Chromebook for school, they will need access to another device three times per year to take this assessment.

Internet Service

Colorado Connections Academy households may request a subsidy towards the cost of your household Internet service. Please refer to the school handbook for the payment schedule details. The handbook is available to families after the initial enrollment registration.

Households are responsible for obtaining an Internet service provider and ensuring the student has daily access to the internet in order to abide by Colorado’s Compulsory Attendance Laws. The school does not provide hotspots.

Printer

Colorado Connections Academy households are responsible for providing their own printer and ink for any printing needs.

Mobile Devices and Third-Party Curriculum

Although we regularly test our education management system, many mobile devices may not be fully compatible with third-party curriculum platforms that are accessed through Pearson Online Classroom. These include: Chromebook, iPad, iPhone, iPod, Kindle, and Android phones & tablets.
