Field Trips of Our Wisconsin Virtual School

Bringing Lessons and Friendships to Life

Wisconsin Connections Academy (WCA) offers field trips throughout the year that are both educational and fun. From the mysteries of the Cave of the Mounds and of Appleton’s own Harry Houdini to the wildlife and ecosystems of the Great Lakes, Wisconsin’s rich natural, cultural, and historical resources become part of the curriculum at WCA.

Parents, teachers, and staff arrange trips to venues such as museums, historic sites, botanical gardens, and state parks. There are even non-school-related outings like picnics, roller skating, and more!

School field trips are excellent socialization opportunities to meet other parents, students, and teachers face-to-face, but they also provide an opportunity to round out the virtual school experience in real-world ways. Through educational field trips, our online students learn life lessons that build upon their course lessons. Students also make meaningful connections with their peers.

Exploring College and Beyond

WCA offers field trips to colleges and universities, college fairs, and even businesses for virtual middle and high school students so they may explore and prepare for the future. The optional Career Club allows students to learn about potential careers and explore fields that interest them, while the College Planning Club guides high school students through the college preparation and admissions process.
