Erika Montgomery is an elementary school teacher at Washington Connections Academy (WACA). She received her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies and her master’s degree in English from Western Governors University. Mrs. Montgomery began teaching in 2006 and joined WACA in 2016. She shares more about her teaching experiences below:
"I began teaching others as a tutoring volunteer while still in high school and fell in love with helping students succeed. I benefited so much from being able to study in a flexible online environment for my college studies, that I was ecstatic to find out that this unique and meaningful educational option was going to be expanding to elementary school students as well.
Connections Academy has become a passion of mine and I am thrilled to be a part of this team. I most enjoy spending time with students on field trips and in real-time online classroom sessions.
For fun, I love to go salmon fishing on the Olympic Peninsula with my husband and outdoorsy princess daughter. I also enjoy crochet and listening to old radio mysteries—basically, my 30s look like most people's 80s!"
