Brent Holm is a high school health/PE teacher at Washington Connections Academy (WACA). He began teaching in 2015 and joined WACA in 2018. He received his master’s degree in education from the University of Washington. He shares more about his experience below:
“I became a teacher because I enjoy watching children develop into strong and resilient learners who are ready to navigate the world and all it has to offer. WACA gives me flexibility and [presents me with] the challenge of teaching and reaching lots of students.
Students will have many opportunities throughout their lives to learn online, and WACA gives them the tools, skills, and confidence to be able to navigate all the opportunities to learn on the internet. What makes WACA special is the support from our staff and teachers. I encourage all parents to be involved and ask lots of questions.
I love being physically active and am always finding new ways to stay active with friends and family. I’ve learned as I’ve grown older that physical activity positively affects not only my physical health but also my mental and social health! I love how exercise makes me feel and how many new friends you can make!”
What makes WACA special is the support from our staff and teachers.
