Karen Thomson
Manager of School Counseling
Ms. Thomson started teaching in 1988 and joined Connections Academy in 2017. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from Olivet College and a master of arts degree from Eastern Michigan University. She is currently the Manager of Counseling and shares her story below:
“I became a teacher because I loved school, my teachers and the whole experience. I never wanted to miss it and I wanted to share that with others.
At Utah Connections Academy, we share that same passion. Everyone is always willing to pitch in, roll up their sleeves and help. I love that our teachers care so much about their kids and the administration works so hard to provide the best program possible for our students. .

— Ms. Thomson
If you’re considering virtual learning at Utah Connections Academy, we look forward to partnering with you to help you stay involved daily with what your student is doing. Parents are one leg of a three legged stool, and without them, the stool is not complete.
I live on a small lake in Michigan so in my free time I love the water and enjoy walking every day. I currently have a 9-year-old English Sheepdog, Phoebe, and a blue-eyed cat, Blue, that I found abandoned. He repays me daily for rescuing him by bringing me chipmunks, birds, moths and even squirrels.”
