Lindsey Lillard joined Texas Connections Academy @ Houston in 2021. Her very favorite part of the job is building relationships with students and their families. Ms. Lillard shares her story below.
Why I Became an Educator
I became an educator to make an impact on students’ lives. My father was an educator, and I thank him for my passion for education. Each student at Texas Connections Academy brings with them a unique circumstance. I enjoy building relationships with families.
The Online School Experience at Texas Connections Academy
One way we create a welcoming community of parents, students, and teachers is by hosting open-house events so families can get to know us and we can get to know them. We also provide many opportunities for families to get information and conduct frequently asked questions sessions throughout the year.
Because we don’t physically see our students in person, I really value and stress relationship building. That way, all our students will know we’re here to support them and care about meeting their needs, even though we don’t see them in person.
