Angie Vinson joined Texas Connections Academy @ Houston in 2012. What she especially loves about Connections Academy is that the students are eager to learn. Ms. Vinson shares her story below.

Why I Became an Educator

After marrying my husband, I changed my major to be an educator at the prompting of my mother-in-law who was an educator. I appreciated her wise counsel.

The Online School Experience at Texas Connections Academy

Texas Connections Academy @ Houston creates a welcoming community for parents and students by building relationships. It does this through field trips, state testing, awards ceremonies, graduations, and many other events. When participating in these activities, you know you’re welcome here.

One of my favorite aspects of this job is working with students and staff from across the state of Texas. Teachers here get to know their students on a much more personal level, and while building relationships with our students, we’re able to individualize the support students need to be successful.

Connections Academy® helps prepare students for a bright future by fostering their independence, initiative, motivation, and responsibility for making educational progress. These qualities help prepare students to successfully meet their postsecondary goals.
