LeAnne Stinnett

Secondary School Teacher

LeAnne Stinnett is a secondary school teacher at Tennessee Connections Academy. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Ms. Stinnett has been a teacher at Tennessee Connections Academy since the school opened in 2019 and has enjoyed the close connections she has made with the students and their parents. She shares her story below:

“I became an educator because I love the connection with kids, and I love to see them empower themselves through learning both in and outside of education. Online school is different from a brick-and-mortar setting in that the connections are stronger. There is more time for one-on-one relationship building with students, parents, and peers. The ‘bell to bell’ mindset is gone, and we can take as much time as we need to encourage, support, and learn from each other.

My favorite part of teaching is the feeling of making a difference. What I do matters to my students and their parents, and I love seeing their enthusiasm in the LiveLesson® sessions. The administration supports my efforts and encourages me to do my best. Tennessee Connections Academy does a great job of welcoming everyone into our program. The teachers and admins go above and beyond to connect and communicate with parents and students in a positive, helpful manner.

Tennessee Connections Academy helps prepare students for life by providing a rigorous curriculum that empowers them to reach their goals with the help of their Learning Coaches and teachers. It teaches students to own their success and be accountable for their efforts through engaging activities and lessons.”

I love seeing the successes so many students are having this year, and I enjoy helping them achieve their goals. There is a much stronger connection with parents in an online setting and it builds a better environment for the students when teachers and parents are on the same page.
