Tennessee Virtual Elementary Curriculum
Early learners need a solid foundation in knowledge and education to support their future learning, which is why in grades K–5, our virtual elementary school program helps students learn the basics while acquiring study skills. In addition, we help foster a love of learning that will stick with students for a lifetime. Tennessee Connections Academy’s (TNCA) virtual elementary school curriculum puts an emphasis on the fundamentals, helping students focus on the core subjects of math, reading, writing, social studies, and science.
The Gifted and Talented Program
The elementary student gifted and talented program is available for students who qualify starting in the third grade. Younger students who are advanced in their studies may also be given the opportunity to enroll in gifted and talented courses or to do work at a higher grade level.
“Best of Class” Materials
TNCA’s online elementary school curriculum is made up of “best of class” materials from expert content providers and other leading educational publishers. We make sure students have access to all the lesson plans, materials, and texts necessary to have a high-quality learning experience.
For our elementary school students, the majority of curriculum content is in print, supplemented with content online. As students progress through our virtual school, the curriculum becomes more online-based, with printed materials to support it.

At TNCA, we understand how important it is for our elementary students to have access to elective courses and activities to give them a well-rounded education. We offer electives spanning across a wide range of topics from learning daily living skills, to mastering a world language, to appreciation of the arts. Our activities and clubs give students new opportunities to learn by doing.
