Danielle is a graduate of South Carolina Connections Academy (SCCA). She previously attended a local bricks-and-mortar school but found that she wasn’t able to concentrate in her classes. At SCCA, Danielle excelled and appreciated the extra attention that she received from her teachers. Read below for more of Danielle’s story.
“My family and I found out about Connections Academy through our neighborhood website. A neighbor told us that her daughter loved the school and that she had graduated with high honors. When we researched SCCA, we saw that it met my individual needs. The extra help that I received from the teachers through my IEP helped me understand the material better. What I liked most about South Carolina Connection Academy is that you are able to complete your work at your own pace.”
I enjoyed my class, Introduction to Early Childhood Education, because I'm going to pursue a career in the field of education. The relationships I had with my teachers were all positive. If I had questions or needed help, I could contact my teachers via WebMail.
When I attended a traditional public school, there were more distractions in the classrooms. At Connections Academy, I was able to focus on what is being taught without being distracted by other students. The teachers were also more available to assist than at my previous school.
I prioritized my schedule around my schoolwork, and my studies came before my extracurricular activities. I stayed in touch with my friends through text messaging and social networking sites. I also enjoyed shopping with my friends, walking our dogs, and watching movies.
As a graduate, my goal is work towards getting my associates degree in teaching. South Carolina Connections Academy helped prepare me for the future by allowing me to take a class to learn about teaching young children.
What I liked most about South Carolina Connection Academy is that you are able to complete your work at your own pace.
