Meet Our South Carolina Connections Academy School Leader
Amanda Ebel has been in education for 15 years. She has served as a public school teacher, a private school teacher and most recently, a virtual school teacher and administrator at SCCA. Mrs. Ebel’s teaching career began in 2001 at a bricks-and-mortar middle school in Los Angeles, California where she taught seventh grade English language arts and coached field hockey.
Afterwards, she began her career at SCCA in the 2009-2010 school year as a high school English teacher. She went on to serve as the high school principal and assistant principal before being appointed SCCA's executive director.
Amanda is passionate about virtual schooling and believes that all students can learn at the highest levels. In her spare time, Amanda volunteers in her community. She loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her husband and their 8-year-old daughter.
Amanda was named the 2016 Connections Academy Leader of the Year. Additionally, she also won the Outstanding Leadership by an Individual in the Field of Distance Learning award from the United State Distance Learning Association.

- MA in educational administration from the Principal’s Leadership Institute (PLI) at University of California, Los Angeles
- South Carolina Tier II certification as a secondary principal
