Meet Our Pecos Connections Academy School Leader
"I am very excited to be a part of the Connections family and am honored and humbled to have been chosen to be the principal for Pecos Connections Academy (PCA).
I have been an educator for 17 years. Early in my career, I was interested in coaching basketball. I taught at several schools where I climbed the ladder to become a varsity basketball and volleyball coach in Hatch, New Mexico. After my son was born, however, I decided to hang up the whistle and go back to school to become an educator.
I began working in an online education environment in 2009. I taught economics and history at Innovative Digital Education and Learning-New Mexico (IDEAL-NM) until I joined New Mexico Connections Academy (NMCA). I was the first teacher hired at NMCA and worked as a career ladder teacher for the first two years. Then, I became the assistant principal of secondary education for the 2015–16 school year. I took great pride in the success we had at NMCA, and I am excited to build a strong infrastructure and culture conducive to student learning and achievement at PCA."
