Manager of Special Education
The Manager of Special Education at Willamette Connections Academy, Sage Miller began her career in education in 2004.
Starting as an instructional assistant, Ms. Miller became a special education teacher, then worked as an individualized education program facilitator, special education team leader, special education director, and behavior specialist before joining Connections Academy in 2020.
“I love to support all students and find new and creative ways to help them be successful. I also like the flexibility of virtual education at Willamette Connections Academy. Our system allows us to get to know students better than in a brick-and-mortar setting,” she explains.
Making lessons relevant to students and focusing on their areas of interest is important to Ms. Miller. While encouraging students to work together is one of her favorite strategies, she knows that Willamette Connections Academy courses will help prepare them for today’s college and career world.

Willamette Connections Academy has an amazing, hard-working community of teachers and staff who partner with families every day so students can reach their highest potential.
Ms. Miller earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, a master of education degree in measurement and evaluation from Western Governors University, and Administrator Certification in Educational Leadership and coursework toward Superintendent Certification from Lamar University. She likes to spend her spare time being with her family, cooking international cuisine, and going on road trips.
