Meet Willamette Connections Academy’s School Leader
Chris Long, Principal
Chris Long is the principal/school leader of Willamette Connections Academy (WillCA). Prior to her current role, she served as a junior high and high school assistant principal, district curriculum coordinator, and high school advisory coordinator. Ms. Long has taught junior high social studies, language arts, health, careers, physical education, gifted and talented, and K–12 library media. She also served six Connections Academy®–supported schools as a partner school program manager for Pearson.
Ms. Long is a problem solver, a motivator, a creative thinker, a relationship builder, a clear communicator, and a growing leader
She states, "At Willamette Connections Academy...We Will! We Will Grow, We Will Serve, We Will Explore."
“Through our virtual environment, our students have the unique opportunity to carve out their own educational path,” said Ms. Long. “They are able to challenge themselves academically, engage actively in their communities, and prepare for a bright future through new experiences and curricula. - Bachelor’s degree in Christian education from Southern Nazarene University
- Completed a course of study at the University of Texas at Arlington to become a social studies teacher
- Master’s degree in educational leadership from Harding University
