A Note From the School Leader
On Friday, March 27, I sent out a webmail in response to the Oregon Department of Education’s (ODE) virtual school guidelines that were released on the evening of Thursday, March 26 (click here to review ODE’s March 26 published guidelines). It was communicated with us that the guidelines for high school students, grades and graduation requirements would be released to all superintendents in the state on Monday, March 30. In lieu of this communication and pivoting from the March 26 published guidelines, ODE released at 8:57pm on Monday, March 30, statewide “Distance Learning for All.”
How does this impact ORCA? We are already set to go. School resumes as normal today with attendance, grades and LiveLessons.
We appreciate your patience as we share with you what ODE has communicated with the state. ODE shared they will be including additional information over the next few weeks to clarify guidelines as districts implement “Distance Learning for All.”
We will continue to communicate the adjusted educational regulations as they are communicated with us. If you have concerns about ODE’s guidelines, please reach out to ODE directly, as we are unable to change ODE’s guidance.
