Colton Scott is a high school teacher at Oklahoma Connections Academy (OKCA). He joined OKCA in 2014 and holds a bachelor of arts in multimedia journalism from Oklahoma State University.
Mr. Scott said, “I come from a long list of educators in my family, and I believe this is what I've been called to do. I love teaching kids, impacting their lives in a positive way, and doing my best to make them successful both in and out of school.
I love teaching at Oklahoma Connections Academy because of what this school allows our students to achieve that they may not be able to in another educational setting. They have more opportunity to reach and form an effective relationship with their educators, which in turn leads them to be overall more successful in their studies.
Teaching at an online school allows me, the teacher, to interact with my students in many different formats that are not traditionally utilized in a bricks-and-mortar setting. That allows me to get to know my students better and help them more effectively. Getting an education at OKCA helps students become better prepared for a bright and successful future because of what this school stands for. We believe that all of our students can and will be successful, not just in school but in life as well. Students at OKCA have the benefit of working according to their own personal lifestyle and schedule, which has shown to produce some amazing results in the long run.
OKCA allows your child the opportunity to reach his or her highest potential in a setting that is atypical but proven to produce superior results overall. OKCA is special because of the camaraderie that is formed between our teachers, students, and administration. Everyone is willing to lend a hand to one another, and that helps the school as a whole become better not only for the staff but for our students above all else.”
