Why I Became an Educator
I have always loved supporting children in their education and my next-door neighbor was a Kindergarten teacher and a great role model.
The Online School Experience at Great River Connections Academy
I love the support from the administration and how we assist students in being successful in their curriculum by making biweekly phone calls and getting to know each student and their needs. That’s the biggest difference between online and brick-and-mortar, the connections that are made between families, students and teachers and other staff are deeper.
I offer social skills/fun LiveLesson® opportunities every Friday. The students log into my LiveLesson® room and they can play games together, chat with one another, and then we always play a game together as a group. We also have music; they’re allowed to turn on their mics and their webcams to dance and have fun with other students.

The Benefits of K-12 Online Learning
The curriculum really does prepare our students for real life expectations. It also helps foster self-regulation and organization skills. Students have flexibility in their schedules, but also have requirements that must be made in a given time frame. The support from the teachers and other staff is above any brick-and-mortar.
My Interests
I enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends!
