“My mom was a teacher, so I knew that I wanted to be a teacher from an early age. I loved playing school with my brother and my friends and would often be found with my nose in a book or even working out math problems when others would be outside playing. As I moved through the grade levels, I had many teachers who saw my potential and truly helped me thrive in the classroom. When I graduated from high school, I knew I wanted to help future students thrive academically as well.
Teaching for an online school has allowed me to really get to know my students on a much more personal level. I am able to start every conversation with them by discussing their interests and their passions before we even get into the schoolwork. My students know that I am one of their biggest supporters and that I will work hard to help them be successful.
Great River Connections Academy allows students to really prepare for the future by teaching them not only high-quality curriculum but also time management skills, note-taking skills, and most importantly self-motivation. Whether in college or in the workforce, these skills will help them be successful for the rest of their lives.”
Great River Connections Academy allows me to focus on each and every student in my class and help each of them become the best student and person they can be.
