Brannen Dyer is a middle school student at Ohio Connections Academy (OCA). He lives in Morrow, Ohio with his sister, Britaney, who is an OCA student. The engaging lessons and courses offered at OCA have helped Brannen become a more diligent student. His parents share his story below:
"We decided to research eSchools when our local school district, which was struggling financially, began cutting many of their programs. We were frustrated that our kids were going to have to attend a traditional school in our area and no longer receive the benefits of learning from Gifted and Talented, art, physical education, and music programs.
After researching many e-school and homeschool options, we decided that Ohio Connections Academy was the best fit for Brannen and our family. OCA provides Brannen a customized curriculum that is both flexible and challenging. He is able to participate in the Gifted and Talented literature program and the Math Club. Brannen enjoys the Live Lesson® sessions and the interaction with other students. His favorite subjects are literature, math, and science. He is successful at OCA because he works hard at doing his best on assignments and completing his daily tasks.
The flexibility of OCA’s program has also allowed our family to enrich our son’s education by attending multiple OCA and family field trips that a bricks-and-mortar institution could not provide. Outside of school, Brannen loves playing video games, riding his bike, and playing Upward Basketball."
What I like most about OCA is that it provides a safe learning environment, and I love the field trips!
