Porscha Land

Porscha Land

Porscha Land is a middle school science teacher at North Carolina Connections Academy (NCCA). She began her career in 2009 and joined NCCA in 2012. Ms. Land holds a bachelor’s degree in science from Florida State, as well as a master’s degree in special education from American Public University. She is currently pursuing an additional master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of West Florida.

When asked why she became a teacher at NCCA, Ms. Land said, “I became a teacher after having my first child. He inspired me to not only teach him his first words, but also to contribute to others within my community. I became a high school science teacher shortly after, realizing my passion to help children become lifelong learners of science.

I love teaching at NCCA for a variety of reasons. What I enjoy the most is interacting with my students in the virtual classroom where they can be themselves and contribute to the learning community in a meaningful way. Teaching online also provides the ability to communicate consistently with both students and parents—and at NCCA, we have a strong support system in place to assist families with their needs.

An education at NCCA will prepare students to be competitive in both the education and business sector. Students will leave our school with technology, critical thinking, and organizational skills.”

When she’s not teaching Ms. Land likes to exercise, travel internationally, and spend time with her three sons.
