Baltimore, MD (January 22, 2015) — Four representatives from Connections Education-supported full-time virtual public schools will speak at Capital City Rallies across the country during National School Choice Week. The annual bipartisan event kicks off January 25, 2015, to spotlight school choice programs that are available to families—including the online and blended learning options supported by Connections—and to champion the need for effective education options for all children.

WHAT: Connections Education is celebrating National School Choice Week with four speakers at Capital City Rallies nationwide.

WHEN: January 25 – 31, 2015

WHERE: Across the country (details below)

WHY: School choice is a hot issue across the country, as more families become aware of the effective education options that are available to help their children succeed.

“National School Choice Week provides all Americans with an opportunity to celebrate school choice where it exists, and demand it where it does not,” said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “The fact that National School Choice Week is, in 2015, 73 times larger than it was in 2011 is proof positive that interest in school choice – and the importance of providing all children with access to effective education environments – is growing exponentially.”

Capital City Rallies will be attended by current and prospective families considering school choice options for the 2015-2016 school year. Many Connections-supported schools are planning to participate through field trips, Statehouse tours, and other local events. Visit Connections-supported schools on Facebook during National School Choice Week to see enrolled families share how school choice has made a difference in the education of their children.
