The EDDIE Awards recognize innovative and content-rich programs and websites that augment the classroom curriculum and improve teacher productivity, providing parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence. Selection criteria include: academic content, potential for broad classroom use, technical merit, subject approach and management system. Winners are selected from titles submitted by publishers around the world.

Chemistry A and B is a core curricular offering in all 22 Connections Academy full-time virtual public schools and is also a stand-alone e-course delivered by Connections Learning to schools around the country. Chemistry A and B is comprised of two comprehensive courses spanning two semesters that incorporate math support and problem solving along side the chemistry curriculum. The first course provides a foundation in elemental chemistry; students explore the atoms and elements, concepts in chemical bonding, and how atoms and elements react to one another.  Visual learning and hands-on exercises help reinforce the concepts covered in Chemistry B, which include the properties of matter, solutions, and energy. Students are also introduced to the principles of electrochemistry, organic chemistry, and nuclear chemistry.

Through the integration of Connections Education’s proprietary content, instructional tools, and interactive resources—such as an interactive virtual Chem Lab—with textbook-based content and online resources, students explore the many subject areas of chemistry.

ComputED Gazette has served as an online education resource for educators, parents and students for more than 16 years.
