iNACOL Virtual School Symposium, November 15-17
This Annual Conference for the world’s leading membership organization that promotes K-12 online teaching and learning will feature four Connections Academy presentations on topics including: online learning issues and trends in 2009; using synchronous tools and strategies to win grants; serving children with disabilities in virtual schools – policy and best practices; how virtual learning can play a role in dropout prevention; and supporting reluctant online educators. http://www.virtualschoolsymposium.org/
In addition to being tapped to address iNACOL Virtual School Symposium participants, Connections Academy has been nominated for two 2009 iNACOL Online Learning Innovator Awards, in the “Best and Most Innovative Online Learning Practice” category. Nominated for the awards – to be announced at the Symposium – are two Connections Academy programs: Connections Academy’s Star Rating System, a tool for students to rate online lessons, and help shape their education; and Connections Academy’s high school peer-to-peer tutoring program in the virtual high school setting.
