Stephanie Magras is a secondary science teacher at Falcon View Connections Academy. She holds a bachelor of science degree in biology and a master’s degree in teaching. Ms. Magras joined the Falcon View Connections Academy family in 2018, and has been teaching since 2013. She shares her story below:
“I became a teacher because I love sharing my passion for science, especially the life sciences, and helping students develop an interest in science as well. Working at Falcon View Connections Academy provides me the opportunity to work individually with students. This wasn’t always an achievable task in the brick-and-mortar schools with large class sizes driven by a structured school schedule. The Connections Academy ® curriculum is aligned with Minnesota State Standards and additionally provides students with extensive opportunities to deepen their learning, as well as modifications for all skill levels.
The teachers here are passionate about helping students, staying in contact with the families, and supporting each other to grow professionally,” says Ms. Magras. “If your student is self-motivated, independent, and looking for more flexibility in the school day, Falcon View Connections Academy has the potential to be the right fit.”
Ms. Magras lives with her husband, children, and two pets in Minneapolis. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and being outdoors in each season.
Students will get out of online school what they put into it with the guidance and support from their teachers.
